ChangelogAgentedSEO changelog. Every release, newest first.
What each release added, what it changed and what it fixed. Each line names the part of the plugin it touches and what that part now does.

I write this page so you can check my work. If a release only does part of a job, the entry says which part, and the gaps in 1.0 are listed below instead of buried.
If you only do one thing after installing 1.0, run the connection test under Agents › Connections before you hand your agent its first job. It tells you in a few seconds whether your host passes the sign-in header your agent needs.
1.0.0
AddedThe first public release. Everything below is in the 1.0 zip, grouped by module so you can find “does it do X” fast.
Agents and MCP
10 added- Built-in MCP endpoint at
/wp-json/agentedseo/mcp: Claude, Cursor, Codex, Hermes or any MCP client connects with one URL, no second plugin. - 72 abilities through four doors (MCP, the REST API, the WordPress Abilities API and WP-CLI), built from one definition so they behave the same, with an OpenAPI file that describes them.
- OAuth 2.1 sign-in on the MCP endpoint, so custom connectors such as Claude.ai connect after an administrator approves them, with no pasted password.
- SEO Agent role: each connection gets its own WordPress user and application password, and that user can’t touch plugins, themes or other users.
- Approval rules per area decide what your agent may change alone; fixed rules always ask first for robots.txt edits, noindex on a page with traffic, deleting redirects or schema, trashing or unpublishing, and hiding a whole post type, taxonomy or the author archive.
- Agent content writing: agents create posts, edit whole posts or single blocks, publish, schedule, trash and upload media, with validation, the post lock check and undo through WordPress revisions.
- Activity log of every agent call, with CSV export, and a Role & permissions screen showing what the agent role can do.
- Connection self-test under Agents › Connections (“Run test”): checks sign-in discovery, the MCP endpoint and whether your host passes the Authorization header.
- Sign-in safety: ten failed sign-ins from one address in 15 minutes lock it out for 15 minutes; agent users can’t sign in over XML-RPC; the server tells agents not to follow instructions found in site content.
- Revoke an agent in one click; the content it created passes to the person who revoked it.
Change log, undo and approvals
5 added- One store for every write: any change can run as a dry run first, which returns the before and after without writing anything.
- Change log records who changed what, when and through which door; undo one field or a whole batch, redo after an undo, export to CSV, and undo a settings reset.
- Approvals queue: each proposal is checked before you see it, flagged if the page changed since, and announced by email; approve or reject up to 100 at once or a whole batch.
- Proposals from one agent call are grouped, and a rejection can carry a reason that goes back to the agent.
- Writes other plugins make straight to AgentedSEO’s fields also go through the store, so they are checked, logged and undoable.
Search appearance
6 added- Meta templates for titles and descriptions per post type, taxonomy and archive, with variables (including
{currentyear}and{currentdate}) and a live preview. - Indexing rules per post type and taxonomy, robots meta and canonicals; self-referencing canonicals can be switched off, and a per-page “index” switch keeps one page indexed when its type is hidden.
- Open Graph and X cards with defaults and previews, up to 3 extra share images from the content, and price tags on product pages.
- Breadcrumbs as a block, a shortcode and the
agentedseo_breadcrumbs()template tag, with a structure builder and an option to hide the current page name. - RSS text before and after each item; image SEO fills alt and title from the file name on upload.
- Password-protected and WooCommerce Memberships content stays out of meta, social and schema text.
Schema
4 added- One JSON-LD graph per page, validated for 22 types against schema.org and Google’s rich result rules: errors block the save, warnings pass.
- Defaults per post type, site identity (Organization, Person or LocalBusiness), page overrides, and a Schema Rules screen that matches by content type, taxonomy, term, template or front page.
- Schema forms with a code mode, saved templates, and a FAQ block that also reads Yoast and Rank Math FAQ blocks.
- WooCommerce Product schema from your product data, ProductGroup for variations, a site-wide return policy, brand, GTIN and up to 5 reviews.
Technical SEO
6 added- XML sitemaps at
/sitemap.xml, plus video and news sitemaps, in every WPML and Polylang language. - robots.txt editor served through WordPress, a URL tester, conflict warnings and AI crawler switches for search and training bots.
- Redirects (301, 302, 307, 410, 451) with loop and chain refusal, regex, CSV import and export, and an importer for the Redirection plugin.
- Automatic 301 when a published slug changes, child pages included.
- 404 monitor with a “New this week” count and one-click redirects.
- Verification and code snippets for the head and body, llms.txt, and IndexNow pings when pages are published, changed or removed.
Site check
4 added- Issues screen with a stable code for every check, CSV export, and one-click fixes for site-level issues, each one undoable.
- Broken links screen with a daily email of new broken links.
- Image alt text screen and a Bulk titles and descriptions screen.
- Checks read the HTML that Bricks, Elementor, Breakdance and Oxygen layouts render.
Editors
3 added- SEO drawer in the block editor, the classic editor, the posts list and the Bricks, Elementor, Breakdance and Oxygen builders, with SEO, Social, Schema and Advanced tabs.
- Agent view in the drawer when “I work with an AI agent” is on: proposals waiting for this post with Approve and Reject, this page’s change log marked Agent or You, and the call that hands the page to your agent.
- Pre-publish panel, term fields, a posts list column, Quick Edit, and sorting the posts list by open SEO issues.
Import and switching
4 added- Importers for 10 SEO plugins: Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress, SureRank, The SEO Framework, Slim SEO, SiteSEO, SmartCrawl and Squirrly SEO. Preview first, keep or overwrite existing values, undo the whole import in one click.
- Settings export and import between sites.
- Classic Monks handover: with both active, AgentedSEO runs sitemaps, 404s, redirects and noindex, keeps Classic Monks’ redirects in sync and can import its 404 log.
- Conflict mode: while another SEO plugin is active, AgentedSEO prints no SEO tags until you deactivate it or switch on “Remove other plugins’ SEO output”.
Dashboard and settings
6 added- Setup wizard, a setup checklist, an Overview with a site score, a command palette, a WordPress Dashboard widget and an admin bar count of open SEO issues.
- Monthly SEO report by email.
- Module switches under Tools › Features, so unused parts stay off.
- AI helpers, off by default: meta suggestions, alt text and check explanations from your own provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, OpenRouter or any OpenAI-compatible server, local ones included), keys stored encrypted, limits of 100 a day and 10 a minute by default.
- Multilingual: SEO fields carried into new translations, each post checked in its own language, ACF fields read by the checks.
- For developers: template tags, a shortcode, blocks and 19 filters and actions.
Built in 1.0, switched on later
Search Console (connection, opportunities, keyword ideas, URL inspection, clicks and position in the posts list, and two checks: a noindex page that still gets traffic, and a page where Google chose another canonical) is in 1.0 and switched off. It turns on when the connection service on agentedseo.com is live.
Known limits in 1.0, said plainly.
Things 1.0 does only part of. I’d rather you read them here than find them on your site. I track each of these on the roadmap.
- The SEO drawer has no max-snippet or max-image-preview per post; those are set per post type and taxonomy on Indexing rules.Partial
- No switch hides the breadcrumb trail on one post.Partial
- Images that only appear inside post content are read-only on the Image alt text screen.Partial
- In the editor, the Agent view links to Approvals for content changes instead of showing the diff, and the document summary and pre-publish panel don’t yet show agent changes waiting.Partial
- Top queries for a page work through MCP, REST and WP-CLI, with no screen yet.Partial
- Tools › Advanced offers “And email a summary” for the site check; that email is not sent yet.Partial
How every entry is written.
I’ll write every release from here on in this format, so thirty entries scan as fast as one.
- Newest release on top. One line per change.
- Every line names the part of the plugin and what it does.
- Anything that changes front-end output goes under Changed, with the setting that controls it.
