There are two kinds of AI in an SEO plugin. The first is a writer built into the plugin: you click a button, it drafts a title or a meta description, and you pay in credits or with your own API key. The second is newer. The plugin opens itself to an agent you already use, like Claude or Cursor, over MCP, and the agent does the work from the chat.

This is the task that split the field on paper before we ran anything. Yoast says a change made through its abilities can be rolled back “as long as your AI tool holds the changed values in context”. ThinkRank keeps an MCP Activity log “where one click reverts any change”. AIOSEO’s SEO Revisions keeps a history with a restore button; we test whether it records agent changes too.
